This page is dedicated to WarBirds, an on-line flight simulator in internet. Some of you might want to ask "why does a grown man play with children's games?". Well, in the end that is a matter of opinion, however I just happen to find this extremely fun.
You'll find me in the WarBirds by my call sign stubit. I'm mostly flying F4F, Jug or Pony with the Icebreakers for Purplandia.
Sticks and pedals
I now have CH Force FX with CH Throttle and CH Pro Pedals so my stick setup is no longer nowhere near a self made set. However, you can find below some pictures of my closet setup and hardware racks. The kid in one of the pictures is not me but my son Pyry ;-)

RAHON: Radio Abbreviations Help for Oldies and Newbies
In order to understand the common radio language used in the WB you need to know all or at least most of the below abbreviations and acronyms. For information about the usage of the radio please check the English WB 2 FAQ and Finnish WB 2.0 FAQ.
| 6 | Check your six, e.g. '<callsign> 6' meaning that 'Mr <callsign>, there is an enemy behing you!' |
| 6! | Help! Clear my six! Take that bad guy off my tail now, please! |
| ack | Anti Aircraft Guns, usually near by an airport. When you are dropped by one the win is awarded to the 'Ack Weenies' |
| afk | Away From the Keyboard, e.g. I am not at my PC because I'm going to fridgerator for a beer |
| ammo | I'm out of ammunition or other ordnance |
| beacon | Network connection indicator is the 'beacon' or 'verbindung' light in your cockpit. Green or orange is good, red means a soon disco. The best scoring ace ever is called "Red Bacon" |
| bingo | I'm out of something, e.g. 'bingo ammo', 'bingo beer' or 'bingo fuel' |
| brb | I'll be right back , often used with afk, e.g. 'afk, brb' |
| buff | Nickname for Boeing B17 Flying Fortress (Big Ugly Fat Fucker), often misused for any bomber |
| bz | I'm busy fighting someone, can't talk now |
| cap | Combat Air Patrol, defend an airfield or another aircraft, example 'cap 3' means I am flying cover over airfield F3 |
| cat | Nickname for Grumman F6F Hellcat |
| con | Enemy contact, e.g. 'vis con' meaning I have a visual contact to enemy |
| con | Network connection, e.g. 'Good con tonight' can be |
| cc | Short for Click Click. I understand, I copy, Roger, rgr, yesyes |
| ch# | Channel, e.g. 'ch24' meaning that you should tune your radio to channel 24 |
| d# | Distance from something, e.g. 'vis <callsign> d12' meaning I can see <callsign> and my distance is 12 |
| disco | Network disconnection, if there is a bad line between you and the WB server you are discoed |
| dora | Nickname for Focke Wulf Fw 190D-9 |
| emil | Nickname for Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 |
| eta | Estimated Time of Arrival, e.g 'eta 1' means that I'll be there in 1 minute |
| frank | Nickname for Nakajima Ki-84la Hayate Frank |
| franz | Nickname for Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 |
| frog | Nickname for the Green country |
| ftd | Nickname for Lockheed P38 Lightning "Fork Tailed Devil" |
| <g> | Grin, a smiley, used sarcastically at the end of sentences |
| gustav | Nickname for Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 |
| hawg | Nickname for Chance Vought F4U-1D Corsair |
| hog | Nickname for Chance Vought F4U-1D Corsair |
| hwy | Heawy, meaning a buff, other bomber or a fighter with 'eggs' or 'rocks' |
| jabo | Nickname for any JagdBomber, a fighter bomber |
| jug | Nickname for Republic P47D Thunderbolt |
| kate | Nickname for Nakajima B5N2 Kate |
| light | Fighter, light plane without bombs or rockets |
| lol | Laughing out loud, expressing amusement or sarchasm depending on the situation |
| oscar | Nickname for Nakajima Ki-43ii Hayabusa Oscar |
| otw | I'm on the way, e.g. 'otw 18' means I am on my way to the airfield F18 |
| pony | Nickname for North American P51D Mustang |
| pos 2,-3,3 | My position in the map is the lower right corner of square 2,-3. The last number, in this case 3 refers to the key position in the keyboard number pad. |
| rtb | Return To Base, I am leaving the battle and going back to the home |
| thud | Nickname for Republic P47D Thunderbolt |
| thx | Thanks, often used to thank someone special who bailed you out of trouble, e.g. 'thx <callsign>' |
| val | Nickname for Aichi D3A2 Val |
| vis | Visual, I can see something, e.g. 'vis <callsign>' meaning I have a visual contact to <callsign> |
| wtg | Way To Go! Good job guys! |
| zeke | Nickname for Mitshubishi A6M (Zero), often spelled also zeek |
Many of the planes are often referred with their number only, e.g any model of Lockheed P38 Lightning is often mentioned as 38 or Focke Wulf Fw 190A-8 is known as A8.
