At the end of year 1999 the first digit of the year pointer might unexpectedly change from 1 to 2. Impact: Most software and hardware systems are not capable of handling large numbers causing instability and in worst cases complete cut in the system services. Solution: The Christian chronology is changed so, that the next date after 31.12.1999 will be 1.13.1999 (previously known as 1.1.2000). This logic can be continued until 31.99.1999 (previously known as 31.3.2007) after which the date will be 32.1.1999. The picture above is me making a low pass on Mosquito Meeting '98 at Menkijärvi.       Family - Pyry and Otso We have a dual Son bio-processor system installed at our home. The primary system Pyry was delivered 22-Oct-97 05:30am, three weeks before the estimated delivery time. The Finnish name Pyry means a snow blizzard and truly, Helsinki got the first snow the night Pyry was born. And as if we did not learn anything from the primary processing unit we ordered another item. The Otso unit was delivered at 04-Jan-01 16:46. Otso is a nickname for bear. Both units have major malfunctions in the energy saving features, especially the volume control function is totally broken. The units are far from the requirement specifications or what is described in the manuals. The systems may have irregular resets every two or three hours and when one processor is resetting it is affecting the stability of the other one. Another feature that we seem to be stuck with is that somehow the early voice output has been transmogrified to an output of different nature, the voice has been replaced by physical contents and (uh) smell. It is becoming more and more evident, that both units have some advanced artificial intelligence features, taken from the fact that they can already fool the Wife 1.0. However, there is one positive feature that relates to long sleep mode, sometimes even seven hours in one session. Unfortunately it is apparent that there is no money back guarantee so we have to keep both units. Working history I am currently working for Nokia (NMP/MSW) as a Product Manager.
